The Green Energy Eco Club of NICHE, Kanyakumari, celebrated World Environment Day on June 4 and 5, 2025, through a series of meaningful green initiatives.

On June 4, several distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Tessy Thomas (Vice Chancellor, NICHE), Prof. (Dr.) Kuncheria P. Isaac (Former Vice Chancellor, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University), Prof. (Dr.) G. Gopa Kumar (Former Vice Chancellor, Central University of Kerala), Dr. Faizul Rehman (Vice Chancellor, Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University, Kurnool), Shri. M.S. Faizal Khan (Pro Chancellor, NICHE), Shri. Madathi Sivan, and Dr. Shajin Nargunam (Pro Vice Chancellor, NICHE), participated by planting and watering saplings on the campus.

On June 5, Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan (Registrar, NICHE) planted a sapling and addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation, tree planting, and reducing plastic usage. Dr. Menaka D, Club Coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks. As part of the celebration, the Eco Club also organized an online Environmental Quiz provided by an e-certificate.

Faculty members and student members of the Green Energy Club actively participated, making the event a grand success.
