Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), Kanniyakumari, hosted the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect – Seva Pakhwada Edition on Friday, 26th September 2025, bringing together students, faculty, and volunteers to reaffirm the role of youth in nation building.

The programme commenced with the invocation song and lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address delivered by Dr. R. S. Rimal Isaac, Nodal Officer (Viksit Bharat) & NSS Programme Officer, NICHE. In his address, he highlighted the vision of the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji, for a Viksit Bharat by 2047, emphasising the responsibility of young people in shaping the nation’s future.

The felicitation of the event was done by Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan, Registrar, NICHE, who also administered the NSS pledge to the students.

The gathering was graced by Dr. Tessy Thomas, Vice Chancellor, NICHE, who addressed the audience as the Chief Guest, inspiring students to engage in service-oriented and innovative initiatives. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. R. Pascal Sasil, Political and Public Policy Consultant and Youth Icon (Viksit Bharat YCP), who motivated students to channel their energy and ideas towards realising the national vision of development and inclusivity.

Distinguished officials present on the dais included NSS Programme Officers Dr. V. N. Meena Devi, and Dr. R. Rajesh.

As part of the pre-event activities, students actively participated in the My Bharat portal overview, registration, and quiz, supported by dedicated student volunteers and My Bharat volunteers, who ensured the smooth conduct of the sessions.

The event also featured interactive sessions, video displays, and a Yuva Samvad, allowing students to share their perspectives with the keynote speaker. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. A. Unni Krishnan, followed by the National Anthem.
