Report on the Inaugural Function of FDP on “Internet of Things” in collaboration with *ICT Academy of TamilNadu*

The Department of Computer Applications organized a *Faculty Development Programme* ( *FDP) on “Internet of Things (IoT)” from June 2 to June 6, 2025,* with the aim of enhancing the knowledge and skills of faculty members in emerging areas of IoT technologies.

The inaugural function was held on 02.06.2025 and was graced by the presence of our esteemed *Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics) Dr.A.Shajin Nargunam* . The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by *Dr.J R Jeba, ICT Academy Co-ordinator* of NICHE, highlighting the relevance and importance of IoT in the current academic and industrial landscape.

Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics) officially inaugurated the FDP and delivered the inaugural address. In his speech, he emphasized the growing impact of IoT in transforming industries, healthcare, smart cities, and daily life. He encouraged faculty members to take full advantage of the FDP to update themselves with the latest trends, tools, and research in IoT, thereby enriching the academic ecosystem and guiding students towards innovative applications.

Following the address, the programme schedule was outlined by the FDP coordinator, who gave a brief overview of the sessions planned and the expert resource persons involved.

Also present at the event were *Mr. Rajkumar S* Relationship Manager, and *Mr. Siva Gopal K* Technical Trainer from ICT Academy. Mr. Rajkumar S addressed the gathering and elaborated on ICT Academy’s initiatives to strengthen the academic-industry connect through skill-building programmes.

The inaugural function was well-attended by faculty members from various departments, and it marked a motivating start to a week of learning, interaction, and innovation in the field of IoT.
